THE COASTAL path between Sennen and Land's End is to undergo a series of improvements this year as part of a major investment in the South West Coast Path.

Work began last week on a stone-pitching project to solve major erosion problems and improve access on the popular route between the two tourist destinations.

The £20,000 work has been supported by the South West Coast Path team, National Trust, Cornwall Council and Land's End Company.

It will see 220m of the path pitched with granite and will take ten weeks to complete.

It will be followed by a further 600m of similar work to complete the path to Land's End in the next stage of the project. The path will form part of the Great South West Walk to celebrate the association's 40th birthday. The event will include 56 sponsored walks.
