AIR GUN pellets and drug paraphernalia, found inside a Sennen church, have devastated the local congregation.

Arriving at Escalls Chapel for morning worship on Sunday members found their church vandalised again. Two windows had been smashed and drug supplies were found in the grounds.

Member Nelson Eddy said he also found what looked like gunshot pellets inside the church. "They might have used a gun to blow the windows," he said. "I have asked the neighbours but they haven't got back to me yet.

"But we feel that the car park needs a barrier which will stop people driving in willy-nilly. We are also looking into CCTV circuit system."

In November last year pellets blasted from an air gun shattered a pane of glass in the window of the chapel.

The church only paid the final bill for the last work on Tuesday – five days before the latest attack. Lesley Double continued: "Slates and stones had been thrown, scattering glass and debris.

"These windows cost £700 to replace, as they are double glazed and specially shaped.

"Naturally everyone is very upset and they will have to find yet more money to replace these windows."
