Writer's Tudor love story up for award

CARDINHAM-BASED novelist Victoria Lamb's new Tudor romance Witchstruck has been shortlisted for the Romantic Novelists' Association awards in the Young Adult Romantic Novel of the Year category.

Other novelists shortlisted for the awards include Katie Fforde, Jenny Colgan and Kate Morton.

The winner will be announced by Judy Finnigan and Richard Madeley on February 26 at a ceremony in London.

In Witchstruck, Meg, a teenage Tudor witch, joins forces with a young Spanish priest, Alejandro, in a high-stakes adventure romance to save the imprisoned Princess Elizabeth.

The novel is the first in a Tudor witch series, published by Corgi. It has also been acquired by Harlequin Teen for USA distribution from October this year.

Victoria Lamb's next publication is His Dark Lady, a novel about Shakespeare and his "Dark Lady of the Sonnets". It will be available in hardback from February 28.
