Yellow weather warning issued as strong winds and heavy rain hit Cornwall
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain today and is urging people to be aware of the potential risk of flooding.
Up to 40mm of rain is expected to fall in some parts, particularly high ground in the west of the county.
A representative from the Exeter-based weather agency said: “Another spell of rain is expected across southwest England during Monday.
"This is not expected to be as prolonged or as heavy as in recent days but given the saturated ground, the public should be aware that this still has the potential either to lead to localised flooding or to exacerbate existing issues."

The chief forecaster added:“Another spell of wet and rather windy weather is expected across southwest England during Monday. Rainfall totals of 10 to 15 mm seem likely quite widely and perhaps 30 to 40 mm locally, mainly over high ground in the west of the warning area.”
The “be-aware” weather warning has been issued from this morning until 11.45pm.
