A YOUNG campaigner has launched a petition in Camborne to raise awareness about the amount of litter left on the town’s streets.
Benjamin Eyriey, 14, from Kehellend, has set up an online petition to raise awareness of Camborne’s “decline” and calls for more funding to clean up the streets.
His petition, titled ‘Clean up Camborne’ was launched last week.
Mr Eyriey said: “In recent years, I've noticed how the town's maintenance is very much ignored.

“I'm attempting to try and make those in charge raise the maintenance budget in the town. Camborne is a very nice place, it's just a shame about its condition.
“The petition has had very positive feedback so far.
“I'm hoping that enough people will sign it in order to become noticed. Hopefully if the budget gets raised, then the town should become a much cleaner and friendlier place for the locals.
“I'm not just talking about the town centre, I'm also talking about all the alleys and the small streets in the area as well. This will of course make a huge difference to the living standards in the area.”
