Young widow Zara Thomas given replacement bracelet for lost final present from husband Ryan
A young widow who lost the cherished last present from her late husband has had some good news.
Zara Thomas, from Grampound Road, was given a Pandora bracelet from her husband Ryan and their baby daughter Maisy as a Christmas present only weeks before Ryan’s death.
Ryan, a talented sportsman known as Smiler because of his happy demeanour, died while working for Western Power Distribution on January 16.
Zara was distraught when she lost the bracelet on a visit to Newquay in June.

The West Briton’s story about the bracelet was shared by hundreds of people online and seen by Fay Mansell from the No 1 King Street jewellery boutique which stocks Pandora goods and other jewellery.
Fay, who also knew Ryan, offered a bracelet to Zara which she picked up this morning from the boutique.
Zara said; “It’s very thoughtful and kind of Fay. It’s never going to replace the original but it’s the bracelet Ryan chose and it’s the nearest I can get.
“He bought it as a gift that I could add to every year and now I can go on collecting the charms.”
Zara was overwhelmed by the way people responded to the initial loss of the bracelet.
She said: “People I had not spoken to before were asking me if I had found my bracelet. It was very upsetting but it’s nice to know people care.”
Zara and Ryan’s daughter Maisy is now a thriving 15-month-old and provides some solace for her grieving mother.
Zara said: “There is nothing bright about the future but Maisy keeps me going – I’m so glad she is here.
“She is very much like him. Her personality is shining through – she is always laughing and smiling, just like Ryan.
“I just wish he could see her – he would be very proud.”
