Zero hours clarification
THE TATE has asked The Cornishman to clarify confusion around the number of people it employs on zero hours contracts. In a recent story The Cornishman reported that around 40 per cent of Tate staff – including staff at Tate St Ives – were on controversial zero hours contracts.
A spokesperson said: "Tate Gallery does not employ staff on zero hours contracts.
"Tate Enterprises Ltd, which is a subsidiary of Tate Gallery, employs 515 people in retail and catering across all its sites. "Approximately 40 per cent of those employed by Tate Enterprises Ltd (not Tate Gallery) are on zero hours contracts."
