Redruth is preferred records site
Redruth has emerged as Cornwall Council's preferred location for the new Cornish archive and records office.
In February, the town was shortlisted along with St Austell and Hayle as possible locations for the facility which is to move out of Truro.

But documents seen by The Cornishman indicate Redruth is now the race leader, with the former brewery site earmarked for the new buildings.
On Friday, the council's communities overview and scrutiny committee is expected to pass a recommendation to Cabinet that the brewery site is formally adopted as the preferred location.
