A 'BUILD your own computer' event is being held in Penzance this month.

Those taking part will learn how to assemble a computer from recovered parts, install Linux and get high-quality free software to suit their needs. At the end of the day, participants can take the computer they've built home.

A donation of old PCs from Truro and Penwith College will be used in the event, organised by social enterprise Open Shed.

The power supplies will be safety tested and there will be an introductory briefing on electrical safety.
