Back to business for Glover
HELEN Glover and her Great Britain rowing team-mates had their feet back on the ground this week after the glamour of last week's Olympic announcement at Windsor Castle – with the focus firmly on the season's final world cup in Munich this weekend.
Penzance's Glover, who celebrates her 26th birthday on Sunday, and Annabel Vernon from Wadebridge, will race in the women's pair and women's eight for the Siemens-sponsored and lottery funded GB Rowing Team at the regatta in Germany.

Glover, who is part of a well established pairing with Heather Stanning after they both came through GB Rowing's Start programme in Bath, won gold in Belgrade and Lucerne earlier this year while Vernon returned to race in the women's eight in Lucerne after missing Belgrade and switching from the sculling squad.
She is now one of ten named for the eight for London 2012 – with two reserves yet to be decided from that number – and the Olympic silver medallist will race in the eight in Munich.

Glover had only barely begun to row in 2008, having responded to UK Sport's 'Sporting Giants' call for tall people.
She will go to the Games as World Silver medallist in the women's pair with Lossiemouth's Heather Stanning, also a product of the Start scheme. Glover said: "I'm looking forward to another opportunity to race against the rest of the world and it is a last chance to test ourselves prior to the hard training camps before the Olympics."
GB Rowing Team performance director David Tanner spoke at Windsor of Britain's Games' ambitions to equal the tally of six medals won in Beijing and he will be keeping a close eye on their performances in Munich.
