Take the café trail
CORNWALL has some the finest views and finest food in the country.
It's no surprise then that a stroll to a café for a lazy lunch, spot of afternoon tea or a good coffee is high on many people's weekend or holiday agenda.
To help us and visitors to the county find and enjoy the true Cornish café gems, Cornwall Food & Drink is launching an invaluable map and guide to the cream of Cornish cafés: The Truly Cornish Café Trail.
Launched for spring, the trail is designed to inspire visitors to get off the beaten track and discover the best foodie spots – cafés that pride themselves on sourcing ingredients locally and serving great food.

How can you help?
The team at Cornwall Food & Drink would like your help in finding the county's top truly Cornish cafés.
If you run a café business in Cornwall and would like it to feature in the trail, please let them know and also tell them how your business 'chooses Cornish'. Simply contact Cornwall Food & Drink before Friday, February 22.
Or if you have a favourite Cornish café that you visit regularly, please make sure that you tell them about the campaign.
The trail will be distributed to tourist offices and the hospitality sector throughout the South West. It will also be available to download online.
All businesses featured in the trail will also be eligible to enter the Choose Cornish Awards that will accompany the campaign; one award will be reserved specifically for the 'Truly Cornish Café Champion'.
Cornwall Food & Drink recently launched the 'Choose Cornish' campaign with Cornwall Chamber of Commerce, to reinvigorate local purchasing in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and generate value within the local economy.
Inclusion in the trail is free for Cornwall Food & Drink members, or there is a cost of £195 plus VAT to become a member.
Businesses must be able to demonstrate that they source produce locally to be included in the trail.

“You say Cornwall has some of the finest food but you really have to search for it. So called good food guides are full of horrendous eateries. I can count 4 places in the whole of North Cornwall that I consider as good. Obviously more in the South where the tourist money is spent more freely. Even in Padstow you have to know where to go. More often than not I'm ashamed when I see what the tourists are offered compared to what they are asked to pay, especially the foreign visitors. In a county where the tourist Pound is so important, surely more needs to be done. Doing the bear minimum just isn't good enough.”
