Firefighter Rob Hosking wrote on Twitter: “Alarms sounding & smell of burning @ RCH Treliske. 2 appliances from Truro, 2 from Redruth & 1 from Falmouth attended.”

Cornwall Council confirmed the incident was a false alarm. It is understood smoke from an external source set off the alarms in multiple wards at the hospital.
