First of three cruise ships docks in Tor Bay
The cruise ship Artania was an early morning visitor to the Westcountry yesterday, arriving in Tor Bay around 7am to put passengers ashore to enjoy the attractions of South Devon.
Torbay will host a record number of six cruise ship visits during 2013, with three calling this week. Regular visitors the Artania and Delphin, which arrives today, will be joined by a first-time trip for the Thomson Spirit on Friday.
It is estimated that there will be nearly 4,000 passengers aboard the ships, bringing a welcome boost to local tourism with many passengers enjoying free time to explore the English Riviera.
