Fire destroys house at Porth Navas
Firefighters were called out on Saturday morning following reports, received from a boat on the Helford River, of a house on fire at Calamansack, near Porth Navas.
Two appliances and a Land Rover from Falmouth raced to the scene and found the building well alight. Fire crews used four breathing apparatus and two hoses, whilst carrying out a search of the ground floor of the property, a wooden house. A water carrier was requested from Helson and Wadebridge station, together with a further appliance from Camborne. Due to location difficulties, a local farmer assisted fire crews with accessing the premise and helping to move equipment.
