“Never had it so good? Unlikely under an evil Tory government. Record numbers begging for food. Bleak future with no prospects of secure work. No chance of getting on the housing market despite the latest scam which is going to help people buying second homes.

Are things different in the English Midlands, 'young' 'cornwall'?”

“Are people struggling up in the midlands, young "cornwall" or is Cornwall, once again, being made to suffer at the hands of the rotten Westminster system of government?”

“Our food banks are struggling here in Cornwall. Thousands of meals being handed out by hard working volunteers doing their best in the face of the evil Tories.

Is it that way up in the Midlands, young "cornwall"?”

What right thinking person is going to respond to this thread now with any sincerity?

    Thanks for nothing.”

“More Cornish than you will ever be and in Cornwall too?

Now, about the thousands in Cornwall relying on food banks, do you have them in the Midlands?

Our food banks are running out. That is the price we pay for being under the English boot heel.

“People needing food hand outs in 2013 is a disgrace.

Regional housing figures, I have long believed, to be arbitrary and not based on local needs or infrastructure (but we must remember that we are all entitled to live here; it is the planning reasons, allowances and restrictions that need serious review)

Two things for a kick off.”

    “"…On the Crest of a Wave…Never Had it So Good…If Not…Why Not?"

I have known the time when potatoes and cabbages were taken from the farmers fields to survive, and I can remember when there wasn't any cars to a family, not a TV set in sight let alone a computer, which today if children do not have one they are classed as being deprived. So today, what are these benefits supposed to cater for?

What benefits are you on that you couldn't do without or what benefits are you on that are not sufficient for your needs.”

“I see you have been posting on the main news site concerning the need for food banks 'young' 'cornwall'.

A reporter has responded saying that in next week's West Briton they are featuring live cases.

The thing is 'young' 'cornwall', will you be popping out to buy a copy of next week's West Briton to read up on this?

It might be a real education on the state of things here in Cornwall. Not all news coverage is included in this website.

So, to repeat that very simple question, will you be popping out to buy a copy of next week's West Briton? I am sure the reporter would love to know. In fact, I will email her with your reply.”

    Is that not theft?

Are you suggesting that those in dire straights should resort to theft? What about shoplifting for those with no nearby farms to plunder?

Could you do without your pension YC?

Is it enough, or could you do with a bit more?

Do you get pension credits YC?”

What I am saying those in "dire" straights would eat you Paddy if they were that desperate, let alone go shoplifting, not that I am advocating going shoplifting, who knows though to what ends some will go to or have gone to to feed their families, not in this country thank God because we have a benefits system.

"Could you do without your pension YC?"

    If had to, yes.

    At present enough.

"Do you get pension credits YC?"

    NO.

I hope that helps, thanks for bringing this thread back on line. Now how is life treating you? Does your pensions meet your needs?
