The Council has planned to sell off land, and in particular the running track, at Carn Brea leisure centre in order to allow developers to build a supermarket. Some of the proceeds of sale might be used to patch up the leisure centre but a lot would be lost into the general coffers of the council rather than be used for the benefit of the local community.
