“I am all ears hence the "?" When something goes off that is worth getting your teeth into, nothing comes of it. Plenty of threads and yap about history and things that very little can be done about it, talk about "can't see the wood for the trees", this is the Cornish way I suppose, we live and learn.”

“What's to talk about? Several people were visited in Cornwall by the police and interviewed, one person has lodged an official complaint any discourse maybe prejudicial to any case to be made.
That said several English Nationalist's were interviewed by the police yesterday, one of whom wet himself in fear, I know there were photographs taken and I am sure they will be published soon. I didn't here of any Cornishman having a 'Tenna' moment when interviewed. :)”

“It has been on Facebook and several complaints have been lodged. A London based Human Rights legal help organisation is apparently involved as seemingly the police were heavier handed in this Country than in England with more oppressive tactics. Twitter has informed the organisation is called 'Big Brother Watch'.
Also reported in Cornwall Community News:

Civil action against the colonial police seems quite likely and good!”

On Twitter at the time, apparently the Colonial Police threatened someone in their late 70's. A complaint has been made apparently. Also, a lawyer has been engaged so perhaps that explains the relative silence. These complaints can take a long time to resolve as we know from Imperial Police bully boy tactics elsewhere including up in England.”

“I agree. The Colonial Police who cover this Country are hopefully going to be sued and shown for what they are. Imperial bully boys. Noting the You Tube videos showing Colonial actions in Kernow during the torch rally. Wasn't it Hitler that brought those back? The EIS would appreciate that though.
Meanwhile, up in England, I trust the family of Mr Tomlinson are going to take the police up there for every penny they can get.”

“Or perhaps the police fully understand how desperate some people are to get their "cause" publicized,(or more likely have their "15-minutes of fame").
The types of silly stunts these people have got up to in the past probably justify an "interview".
Not sure these people were ever "threatened", but it looks better, for dramatic purposes.”

An aged person.
Can't see how I can regret using a descriptive word, I have a few for you but the sight just puts '*' in place of letters”

“Yes it is. It was reported in not only this newspaper but others. 'Big Brother Watch' a London based human rights organisation put out a press release about it.
The word is that persons victimised are now taking legal action against the police for compensation.
The report on the BBW website covers the actions of the police:

including a 79/80 year old being visited.”
“"Meanwhile, in the run up to the olympic torch being carried through our Country of Kernow, 18 homes were raided by the police and the occupants warned not to interfere with the torch procession. The oldest person threatened was 80 years old!"

I thought this warranted a thread of its own.
Are there any ongoing inquiries into this matter to find out what really went on? No doubt an MP must have been involved, or was it all a storm in a teacup or all hushed up hoping it would go away?”
