“I don't quite know CallingtonFox why you have posted that link. It has no conflict at all with the aims or purpose of the Celtic Congress. If you're still hung up on definitions, consider the following passage from your link:
"Nonetheless, this does not mean that the idea of modern Celtic identity is significantly more 'fraudulent' or unreal than any other - such as English, French, German, or indeed 'British' in the modern political sense. The latter is no older than modern 'Celtic' identity; both were creations of the 18th century".
A remarkable similarity is shown between the languages and place names of Wales, Cornwall and Brittany, all three classified as Brythonic. Similarly, Goedelic as of Ireland, Scotland and Man are close.
The meaning of "Celtic" has changed over the centuries as new evidence is found and updated as required.”

“You still haven't said why you posted the link CallingtonFox, as it seems nothing particularly to do with the Celtic Congress.
All information is updated as new evidence comes to light, hopefully: it's called progress.
You've made no comment on the language and place name similarities I pointed out.”

“Well there's a thing! I have some long standing professional contact with the good folk at Lanhydrock, when this event is on I'll pop over and see what all the fuss is about.
Oh, by the way "Slimslad," the golf club isn't too small for a conference of this nature. Why, they have bedspace for 40 people there.”

“Lanhydrock Hotel? Heavens. does this poster live in Cornwall? If he did (and I have been told otherwise as well as read it) then he would know the substantial facilities available at the Lanhydrock Conference Centre. Certainly enough to host an International Conference with delegates representing the Celtic nations! 44 bedrooms in the complex plus other accommodation in the locale is adequate.
But what is this strange obsession with size? Some 650 people claim to represent 65 million but does the debating chamber in Westminster cater for all those 65 million? And then a query regarding a date? How strange. How sad.”

“"Some 650 people claim to represent 65 million but does the debating chamber in Westminster cater for all those 65 million"?
Some people claim to represent the Cornish people when they are not chosen,or elected, by the people.
In some cases, these people have been known to buy popularity.”

“The Celtic Conference. Like most organisations prefixed 'Celtic' (The Celtic League for example) are no more than organisations composed of a few 'talking-heads' who represent nobody but themselves. None of them are elected, but then those who partake in these 'conferences' don't like the word, democracy. Therefore, 35 rooms should be quite adequate to host ALL their Celtic guests from around the UK.
Slimslad. The Neo-Celts/Cornish Nationalists, still don't realise a number their highly esteemed hierarchy own second homes (or have knowingly sold homes for that purpose), manage Holiday Cottages, invest heavily outside Cornwall, etc., etc., etc.! Or, perhaps they do know and would prefer we be kept like mushrooms?”
“This year's International Celtic Congress is to be held in Bodmin.
