Inspiring Women Network is celebrating Black History Month and would like to invite you to join us at our events during this month:
1- Caribbean Cookery Workshop, Saturday 12th October 1.00-4.00pm at Truro Baptist Church: Come and learn how to prepare an authentic Caribbean 2 course meal and enjoy eating it with us. £7.00/person.
2- Social Evening with IWN, Monday 14th October 7.00-10.00 pm at the Baking Bird Truro: Beatrice Neufville will speak about her experiences of moving from Jamaica to the UK in the 1950's; Yana Spencer an activist specialising in Human Rights and Gender Rights issues will speak about her work with a charity that supports victims of FGM. Cornwall Dance Company will also be performing. £6.00/ person including a cake and coffee/tea.
3- Children's Story and Craft, Saturday 19th October 10.30-12.30 at Truro Community Library: Join IWN as we follow Handa to deliver a surprise to a friend. Come and listen to an old favourite,make fruit for our basket, and try some tasty fruit salad. Free but donations welcome.
4- Film Night is Back! Thursday 24th October 7.00-10.00 pm at Truro Baptist Church: Share an insight into Black immigrants' experience living and integrating in post Second World War Britain; the film is followed by a discussion. Free but donation welcome.
