Polbathic Village Hall, in association with Moviola, will be screening the lastest Bond film Skyfall (12A) 140 mins running time. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets available on door.

Quite marvellous and utterly British. This is as much a story about M as it is about Bond and Judi Dench may well get the Oscar for it next year. Ben Wishaw is splendid as a new (and revisionist) Q. There is even a new Moneypenny (but not to give the plot away, does not appear till the end. And there are lot of other surprises, especially a very important car. It is surprisingly moving. Sam Mendes directs and makes the actors work so it is not just bangs and chases. The key to the film is a scene in the National Gallery with Bond looking at Turner’s ‘Fighting Temeraire’ – the old outdated battleship being towed to her final resting place.

  1. Skyfall @ Polbathic Village Hall. Tickets £5 adults. £3.50 concessions.
