Call for fairness in recycling industry
LOCAL politicians have called for a level playing field for genuine recyclers after recently visiting metal recycling business Sims in Bodmin.
North Cornwall Conservative Scott Mann and local MP Sheryll Murray were invited to the site by the company, which is based on the Walker Lines industrial estate, in an attempt to highlight the problems the industry faces. Mr Mann said it was important to see a level playing field for 'legitimate recyclers' like Sims.
"We are writing to the Police and Crime Commissioner, Tony Hogg, to ensure that enforcement takes place over illegal 'so-called recyclers' who often just fly-tip what they have collected," Mr Mann said.
