Something for everyone at family event
THE St Kew Playing Field Trust's tenth annual fun day held on Saturday proved once again to be great success with almost £2,000 raised for the trust.
In ideal weather the community spirit of St Kew parish shone through to make the rearranged event, which was postponed from August, one to remember.

Trust chairman Bob Knight opened the show and commended the whole community and playing field trust on their efforts in continuing to provide such a splendid and always-improving facility for the use of all.
Several hundred people enjoyed the many sideshows, car boot sale and entertainment on offer and especially popular were two new attractions, the bungee run and laser tag shoot-out.

The family fun dog show proved to be a great crowd-pleaser, with 20 classes and hundreds of entries from all around the county and farther afield.
Dog of the day, winning best in show was Alfie, a five-year-old rescued deerhound owned by D Southcott of Callington; best youngster in show was also named Alfie – a basset hound owned by Laura Henwood of Newquay.
Chairman Bob Knight paid tribute to all committee members and their families for their invaluable assistance, and special thanks went to Megan for organising the children's races. He also thanked all the local businesses who supported the fun day.
