Police in Devon remain tight-lipped about a "substantial" drug seizure in which two people from Cornwall were held for questioning.

A man, 23, and a woman, 33, both from Bodmin, were arrested after being stopped near Cullompton.

Officers found controlled drugs hidden in the Citroen Picasso in which the pair were travelling and took them both into custody at Heavitree Road police station, in Exeter.

Officers from the Road Crime Unit said they seized a "substantial amount of controlled drugs" at around 6pm on Thursday on the M5.

A spokesman said no further information was available regarding the seizure.

The driver of the car and passenger remained in custody yesterday.
