What wonderful workmanship from two very skilled brothers! They gained their knowledge from following in the footsteps of their father and grand-father. Nick and Mathew are very different characters. They complement each other perfectly. One is quiet and more reserved, enjoying the construction work; the other is more lively, happily chatting to prospective customers about designs and ideas. (It is obvious when you meet them!) From helping to make one’s project a reality to the final production of whatever is decided, these two charming, polite, highly-talented young men are quite amazing. Everything is explained in detail and nothing is too much trouble. Making any necessary changes/additions is never a problem. Their website is extremely helpful and clearly shows why I chose to ask them to design/construct my railings and gates. I cannot over recommend them.

Jay's Gates offer both traditional blacksmith services and modern metal fabrication at our unit in St Agnes, Cornwall. We have the latest machinery available, but also use traditional methods of metalwork in all of our products.

The Turners have been blacksmiths in Cornwall for over 50 years.

Design - We have many different designs available but can also replicate to your own design that you may have. With a free site visit we will work with you in choosing the design that suits your style and budget.

Galvanising - Hot Dip Galvanizing is a cost-effective simple process of corrosion protection. It is probably the most economic, efficient and pollution-free process available to protect steel against corrosion.

Ironworks - We can make almost anything out of iron or steel depending upon your specific requirements.

Gates - You can expect a galvanised gate to last for 25+ year's maintenance free.

Balconies - We can make balconies where you are able to walk out onto the balcony. This can be either a wooden deck to reduce noise under foot or a steel deck with a longer life.

Fencing - Fencing in Cornwall using steel is popular due to the advantages of creating a barrier whilst allowing the wind to travel through and having something a bit different and built to last.

Fire Escapes - It is very important that your property has the correct fire escape route, and often require a staircase for access and sometimes landings as well. Maintenance of a staircase is important as well, so checking that your current fire escape is safe is important as you never know when it will be needed.

Furniture - Metal furniture can give you something totally unique to you. Many of our customers have had custom made furniture which no one else in the world will have. Coffee Tables, Weather Vanes, Dining Table and Chairs, Beds, Curtain Poles, Garden Furniture including Arches, Benches, Gazebos, chairs.

Handrails - Handrails give assistance going up or down steps or a slope. They can either be just a top rail with uprights or side fixings or with infill bars and decorative ironwork. Made from either mild steel then galvanised or stainless steel.

Metal Fabrication - We provide a metal fabrication service, this could be from a pond guard to a fire grate, we are able and equipped to deal with any kind of fabrications you may have.

Railings - We offer basic style railings as well as ornate railings which can really enhance the look of your property. All our railings our made to measure not 'made to fit'.

Security Grilles - If you are looking to secure windows, doors or entrance ways then a security grille is a strong safe answer.

Staircases – Staircases include spiral, internal and external and much more. All our staircases and fire escapes comply with building and fire regs. We ensure they are protected with galvanising with the option of liquid sprayed topcoat.

Installation - We offer a full installation service with all of our products.
