Villagers celebrate the launch of the new North Carrick community bus.
It is hoped the bus, which has been purchased with funds donated by Cornwall Council, will particularly help people in St Newlyn East, Mount Hawke and Blackwater to get to GPs' surgeries.
Jinny Clark, Cornwall Councillor for Newlyn and Goonhavern, welcomed the launch and said: "Cornwall Council has been working with Age Concern Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and other voluntary organisations such as older people's forums for some time to bring easy access to the doctors' surgeries for outlying villages."
The bus will be in the Perranporth area on Monday afternoons and Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and in the St Agnes area on Monday morning and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
The service is for the whole community and the minibus is fully accessible and able to carry children's buggies as well as wheelchairs and shopping. For running times contact dial-a-ride on 01872 266886 or 07964017722. For details of group hire call 01872 266384.
