Dog rescued from sea at Trevose Head

A DOG was rescued from the sea off Trevose Head yesterday by Padstow RNLI.

The Tamar class lifeboat 'Spirit of Padstow' was called out at 9.50am to reports of a small terrier which had fallen off the North Cornwall cliff.

The lifeboat crew arrived on scene and found the dog on the rocks at Stinking Cove, around from the lighthouse.

A smaller inflatable vessel was launched and volunteer crew member Tom Norfolk swam ashore to retrieve the dog until the coastguard cliff rescue team arrived.

The dog was then carried up the cliff and reunited it with its grateful owner.
