Drivers told to avoid A30 after crash

Friday, October 31, 2008, 14:41

A MAN has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A30 near Chiverton Cross at lunchtime.

The collision involved a Renault Kangoo van and an Isuzu truck and resulted in the lorry, which was carrying around 1,000 litres of treacle, shedding its load across the roadway.

The westbound road was closed between Chiverton Cross and the A3047 junction in Redruth following the crash, which took place around 12.15pm.

Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene and the road was closed to allow Cornwall's highways team to clear the area.

The road was re-opened in the early afternoon.
