Pete Hutton and Charlie Locke with the Winter Olympics torch.
The Games will start this month in Vancouver and Pete managed to get a photo with the owner of Lake Louise, Charlie Locke, holding the Olympic torch.
Pete, who joked before leaving about getting a photo with the famous torch, could not believe his luck.
He said: "It was too good an opportunity to miss when I saw Charlie who had just arrived carrying the torch into the resort on its journey to Vancouver for this month's Winter Olympics. He was very interested in Joe's story and kindly agreed to the photo proudly holding the Olympic torch."
Charlie Locke, owner of the resort, said: "I was more than happy to help and was amazed by this little boy's story.
Matt Way, Joe's dad, said: "This trip takes the distance that Joe's banner has travelled to 190,000km and people have been so generous with their time.
"His story has inspired so many people so it's great to see his banner with such an iconic image.
"Joe's banner is heading to South Africa and Egypt next." More than £75,000.00 has been raised during Joe's short life and over the 19 months since he passed away with £59,000 going to the Precious Lives Appeal.
Toddler Joe, described by many in the medical profession as a miracle boy, died in May 2008 after a long battle against a variety of life-threatening illnesses.
The annual Paddle for Life in Joe's memory is also set to expand this year, with 20 other charities joining the event.
The paddle will take place on September 23 in Newquay.
