No rain on their parade – sun's out for carnival

TINTAGEL carnival attracted the crowds and proved a real winner.

Carnival chairman Derek Flew was delighted with the parade and entries.

"It was an excellent carnival, slightly down on numbers but the quality was high and the streets were packed with people" said Mr Flew.

This year Bugle Silver Band, St Austell RAF Cadet Band, Bideford Youth Pipe and Drums, Indian Queens Band and Barnstaple Youth Marching Band were all in attendance as was carnival queen Molly Rehling, fairy queen Kathleen May and page Joe Hitchcock.

"The weather was excellent we were lucky it rained in the morning and cheered up and the sun really shone," said Mr Flew.
