This is Cornwall

HOW would you like to open proceedings at Falmouth Sound, the newest big-name music event in Cornwall this summer?

During the evenings of Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, the likes of The Wombats, The Boxer Rebellion, Fink, Foy Vance (Saturday) and The Wailers, Gabbidon and The Neville Staple Band (Sunday) will be playing on Events Square in the town.

However, during both days there will be a free programme of local acts to warm up the crowds during the day.

The organisers of Falmouth Sound have got together with

What's On

to offer local bands or musicians the chance to kick both days off.

All you have to do is e-mail your details, a link to any website/Myspace details where we can hear your music and a bit about you or your band.

You are likely to be playing alongside such well-known Cornwall-based acts as Ruarri Joseph, My Elvis Blackout and Hollie Rogers.

E-mail your details to LTrewhela@c-dm.co.uk, marked Falmouth Sound Opener, by Wednesday, July 29.
