Falmouth Classics – From noon. See the whole harbour and bay full of colour and sail.

EVENTS OFF THE WATER

Search and Rescue display – Pendennis Point, 1pm. Enjoy a display by Falmouth lifeboats and a helicopter from RNAS Culdrose from this perfect vantage point.

Falmouth Marching Carnival – Falmouth Rugby Club to Falmouth Watersports Centre, 6.30-7.30pm. Led by the famous Falmouth Marine Band, participants meet at Falmouth Rugby Club, walk through the main town streets and end up at the Watersports Centre.

Events Square Disco – 7pm-11.30pm, £3 on the door.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 9

EVENTS ON THE WATER

Start of Henri Lloyd Falmouth Week Regatta – Bay Fleet, Carrick Fleet racing from 1pm for 7 days.

Start of Henri Lloyd Falmouth Dinghy Week Regatta – racing from 11am for 6 days at Restronguet Sailing Club.

Helford River Sailing Club Regatta – From 11.30am in the bay and 2pm for working boats at the Helford, 1pm in Carrick Roads and 11am for HLFDW Dinghies.

Two Castles Gig Race – noon, St Anthony's Head to National Maritime Museum. The largest gig race outside the Scillies with over 25 gigs from around Cornwall.

EVENTS OFF THE WATER

Westcountry Cider & Hog Roast Party – 7pm-11.30pm, Events Square. With special live performance from Westcountry legends The Wurzels and support from The Bucket Boys. Tickets £10.

Nitin Sawhney – Princess Pavilion, 8.30pm. Classically trained pianist and flamenco guitarist, also cutting edge club DJ and producer, with full live band. Tickets £25.

MONDAY, AUGUST 10

Mylor Yacht Club Regatta – Racing starts from 11.30am in the bay, 1pm in Carrick Roads and 11am for HLFDW Dinghies.

Falmouth's Got Soul – 7pm-11.30pm, Events Square. Ever popular local band Soul Survivors. Tickets £6.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 11

Restronguet Sailing Club Regatta – Racing starts from 11am for HLFDW Dinghies, 11.30am in the bay and 1pm in Carrick Roads.

Gig Challenge – Women's Race, 7.30pm. Cheer the girls across the water from Carricknath buoy to Watersports Centre.

EVENTS OFF THE WATER

Farmers Market – The Moor, 9am-2pm.

Sailors Invitation Night Only – Fun casino and acoustic night, Events Square, 7pm-11.30pm. Featuring: Ruarri Joseph, Ryan Jones, Joe Francis, Matt Exelby, Ben Howard, all performing with a string quartet. Free to competitors.

Singing Seagull – Princess Pavilion, 8pm, free.

Steve Winwood – Princess Pavilion. A night with legendary singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12

EVENTS ON THE WATER

Falmouth Town Regatta – Champagne Race at 10am, in the bay at 11.30am, 1pm in Carrick Roads, HLFDW Dinghies at 11am.

Seagull Outboard Race – 7pm, Custom House Quay. All you require to take part is a Seagull Outboard Motor and a boat to put it on.

Gig Challenge – Veterans Race, 7.30pm. Cheer the teams across the water from Carricknath buoy to Watersports Centre.

SAR Harbour Display – Display by RNLI lifeboats, RNLI lifeguards and harbour launches, 7.30pm.

EVENTS OFF THE WATER

Falmouth Fun Night – Custom House Quay. In aid of the RNLI and sponsored by Golder Associates, Custom House Quay will provide the main venue for Falmouth's Fun Night with a re-enactment of the Battle of Trafalgar, Seagull Outboard Race and Wench Winching!

The main streets of Falmouth will be closed to traffic from 11am until 11pm with late night shopping.

The evening will start with the Red Arrows Air Display at 6.15pm and will end with boats off Custom House Quay being floodlit. The re-enactment of the Battle of Trafalgar will take place at approximately 8pm which will be between volunteers from the Falmouth Working Boat Crews and Falmouth Marine Band.

Best Of The West – 7pm-11.30pm, Events Square. A night to enjoy the very best of our local talent incorporating some of the most acclaimed bands from the South West – Small Wonder, Three Minute Warning and Falmouth's own Ice Cold Idiots and Polly Money. Tickets £10.

Lanner & District Silver Band – Princess Pavilion, 8pm, free.

Music on The Moor – Alan Rideout presents a selection of local bands and artists from Helston School of Music. You will be amazed at the talent from ones so young – free.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 13

EVENTS ON THE WATER

Royal Cornwall Yacht Club Regatta – Racing starts in the Bay at 11.30am, 1pm in Carrick Roads and 11am for HLFDW Dinghies. This year watch the Working Boats finish on the line opposite the club in the harbour.

Gig Challenge – Men's Race, 7.30pm. Watch the boys battle it out across the water from Carricknath buoy to Watersports Centre.

Parade Of Sail – Custom House Quay, 7.30pm. A display by Falmouth School of Sailing of basic sailing and racing manoeuvres, including the role of the Rescue Boats. 8-9pm – A parade by boats from all the classes racing in the week with commentary by Andy Tyler culminating in the floodlit parade by some of the Falmouth Working Boats.

EVENTS OFF THE WATER

Garden Party – Princess Pavilion, 2pm-5pm, free.

'70s Party Night – Events Square, 7pm-11.30pm. Falmouth Goes Funky with a massive '70s fancy dress night with Neon Luv Chicken. Tickets £12, over 18s only.

Music on The Moor – Graham Hart, 6pm, followed by The Toilet Monsters 9.30pm-11.30pm, free.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14

EVENTS ON THE WATER

St Mawes Sailing Club Regatta – Racing starts at 11.30am in the bay, 1pm in Carrick Roads and 11am for HLFDW Dinghies.

Entertainment on the Quay – open to non-competitors courtesy of the St Mawes Hotel, with Rudi's Message, Three Minute Warning and Even Nine.

EVENTS OFF THE WATER

We Love The '80s Vs The Real '90s – Events Square, 7pm-11.30pm. Classic tracks performed by original live acts D:ream and Rozalla. Tickets £14, over 18s only.

Firework Spectacular – 10pm, Inner Harbour, weather permitting.

Seafood Buffet – National Maritime Museum, 7.30pm. Tour of Falmouth's coastline returning to the Waterside Restaurant for a seafood buffet.

Music on The Moor – Only Moses, 6pm, followed by Forgotten Heroes, 9.30pm-11.30pm, free.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15

Flushing Sailing Club Regatta – Racing starts in the Bay at 11.30am and 1pm in Carrick Roads .

EVENTS OFF THE WATER

Caribbean Night – Events Square, 7pm-12am. Natty Wailer & The Reggae Vibes with support from Back Beat Sound System. Tickets £16, over 18s only.

Music on The Moor – The Shirts. Beach party from 9.30pm – free

SUNDAY, AUGUST 16

Miracle Theatre – Events Square, 7pm. The Cornish theatre company performs Moliere's comedy Tartuffe. Tickets £10, concessions £8.

DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT –EVENTS SQUARE

Events Square, situated right in the heart of Falmouth's waterfront, next to the Maritime Museum, will make an important contribution to the fun and excitement of this year's Falmouth's Regatta Week.

In addition to a full programme of entertainment each evening there is also plenty to see and do in the daytime – open from Saturday, August 8, to Sunday, August 16, 10am-5pm.

The Festival Marquee will host both the well established Artists' Market and the Cornish Crafts Market which will be open each day from 10am to 5pm. Entrance is free to all.

In addition, the colourful Beach Huts will also add to the relaxed trading atmosphere, that with the various cafes, bars and restaurants, brings the ambience of a cafe culture to Events Square.

There will also be children's attractions so the whole family can join in, relax and enjoy Falmouth Week.

NATIONAL MARITIME MUSEUM

All activities FREE with standard admission fee.

Cornish Sea Creatures – Aug 8-14, noon-3.30pm. Be a gene genius and celebrate Darwin's 200th year by 'evolving' your own fish of the future. Create your own sea 'mobile', design porthole pictures and make your own fish mask.

Swashbuckling Pirates – Aug 15-16, noon-3.30pm. Get messy with our swashbuckling art activity and help design a giant pirate galleon complete with masts, gun ports, decks and rigging.

Come Crabbing! – 10.45am-noon, 2-3.30pm (weather permitting). They'll give you the bait, line and bucket, expert help and a safe and friendly place to test your crabbing skills – they'll even do the messy bits. Places limited – please book and pay 50p on arrival.

DAYTIME ACTIVITIES ON THE MOOR

It's OK to Play! – Saturday, August 8, and Monday 10th to Saturday 15th, 10am-noon and 1pm-4pm. Children's activities provided by Falmouth & Penryn Children's Centres. A variety of workshops and fun activities for both children and parents. Ring 01326 312493 (donations appreciated).

RNLI Guided Tours – 10am to 4pm. Lifeboat Station, adjacent to Fal Docks entrance. Contact 01326 210008. Free. See the sophisticated equipment of Cornwall's busiest RNLI's lifeboat station.

Gig Challenge Boat Trips – 7pm-8.30pm, Tue/Wed/Thurs. To view gig racing Enterprise Boats, No 5 steps, Prince of Wales Pier. £5 per person (bring own refreshments). Contact 01326 374241.

PENDENNIS CASTLE

Time Travellers Go… Pirate Academy – Monday, August 3, to Friday, August 7, 11am-5pm.

Sign up beneath the skull and crossbones for piratical pastimes, including games, stories and plenty of yo, ho, ho!

Time Travellers Go… Knight Academy – Monday, August 10, to Friday, August 14, 11am-5pm. Budding knights needed! Fearless, daring, brave. does that sound like you? Then join the brave and noble knights to learn about the art of medieval warfare!

SURF LIFE FESTIVAL

Surf Life Saving GB, the leading charity of volunteer beach lifesavers, will host 1,000 of Surf Life Saving GB's youngest members from around the country; competing for four days in the Nipper and Youth National Championships, a fun, competitive display of skills and equipment used in life saving rescues – August 14-17, Gyllyngvase Beach.

If you are feeling energetic after watching the competition, you may want to take part in the 6pm Open Water Swim taking place on Saturday 15th or a Fun Volleyball Competition on Sunday 16th, or perhaps just enjoy a slower pace with the special menus created by Gylly Cafe for the event or some retail therapy in the trade village.

For a great spectacle for the whole family follow the Parade of Nippers (age 7-13) on Friday at 5.30pm from Gyllyngvase Beach to Events Square, where they will receive their medals from the Mayor of Falmouth.
