“This is a great exhibition organised by Martiens Bekker. Martiens is an artist who specialises in Scrap Art. He only uses discarded and unwanted materials which are either donated or that he finds. The sculptures are unique with strong individual character, each one comes with its own piece of poetry or short story.

'I love giving unwanted, unused items a new life and turning them into something new. I also make furniture and other functional art pieces'. Says Martiens as he climbs up on his latest project, a scrap tree that he is creating to donate to his local primary school in Port Isaac.

This is the last day of the exhibition but it is well worth a look.”
