£250k funding hope for Penzance workhub centre
MORE than £250,000 looks set to be pumped into an enterprising new Penzance scheme.
The Workhubs Network has secured provisional funding to offer a centre for self-employed and home-based businesses in the town.
The workhub will be based at the former tax office at St Mary's Terrace and will also double as a base for the network, with its aim to support fledging businesses locally and farther afield.
"We have worked hard for this for many months and are thrilled to get the go-ahead," said network director Tim Dwelly, writing on the workhub's website.

"Not only can we pioneer the most cutting-edge approach to workhub management here, we can also begin to offer our delivery services to those wanting to set up workhubs in their towns and city areas – and we can do so on a not-for-profit basis."
The funding offer, he said, has been agreed by the Business Catalyst Fund, which is part of the Government's Regional Growth Fund, along with other match-funding and support.
Details of the funding offer are currently being finalised with the scheme expected to move forward once the money is in place.
