£70,000 for plan to revamp slipway

Councillors are to spend £70,000 to investigate the future of a pier which was closed after it was found to be unsafe. East Devon District Council closed Mamhead Pier, Exmouth, after a survey found a void underneath. Now the cabinet is to spend the money on a plan for an enhanced slipway scheme, after news repairs would cost £450,000.
