Rock Oyster Festival - June 22nd - 24th
ORGANISERS of Rock Oyster Festival are promising a variety of entertainment to suit all ages at the family-friendly food and music festival taking place on June 22 to 24.Held on the banks of the Camel Estuary in north Cornwall, the festival combines fabulous food and drink with an all-star musical lineup including the Dub Pistols, The Bees and Charlotte Church. The festival will have plenty to keep the children entertained with a special marquee hosting lots of singing, dancing and acrobatics throughout the weekend.
Golowan Festival - until June 24th
Over 150 events, activities, performances and street entertainment, plus 130 stall-holders who can be found dotted throughout Penzance on Mazey Day and Quay Fair Day (June 23 and 24), selling all sorts of things from circus equipment to handbags.
Tempest, Lusty Glaze Beach, Newquay -Fri June 22nd
A FREE spectacular outdoor dance event by young people, inspired by London 2012 and one of William Shakespeare’s famous plays.
Looe Festival of Food and Drink, hosted by TASTE South East Cornwall, takes place from 10am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Taking centre stage in a purpose-built marquee on the Millpool, overlooking the East and West Looe River, will be a number of local chefs demonstrating selected dishes showcasing the South West and, in particular, the historic seaside town of Looe
Tim Minchin Eden Session - Sat June 23rd
The Eden Sessionsis welcoming comedy back in 2012 with musical comic Tim Minchin who will be headlining a one-off day of humour at the home of the famous Biomes on Saturday June 23.

THIS WEEK sees Lemon Street Gallery in Truro unveil one of its most eagerly anticipated shows of the year, as it celebrates the life and times of the artist and craftsman Breon O’Casey. The son of Irish playwright Sean O’Casey, Breon was raised in a family bursting with literary prowess, but it was his skills in the visual arts that marked him out as one of the most important artists of his generation to work in Cornwall in the 20th century.

OUT Of The Ark presents a gig by Litle N at the Watering Hole, Perranporth, tomorrow.
Originally from the Caribbean but resident in Newquay for 15 years, this guy has the most amazing voice and delivers a set that flirts with soul, soca, R&B and reggae.

IN AN AGE when musicians either seem to be manufactured pop tarts, media-trained to banality, or self-consciously blog-hyped ‘underground’, Cosmo Jarvis, the 22-year-old from Devon is a breath of fresh air. Cosmo speaks his mind and, musically, he’s a magpie who’ll go anywhere, regardless of cool, from hip hop to punk hoedown to gorgeous ensemble orchestration.
Reduced Shakespeare Company, Hall for Cornwall, Monday June 25th
JUST in time for the Olympic frenzy, and following a highly successful US tour and run in New York, the Reduced Shakespeare Company are back at the Hall for Cornwall with ther new show, The Complete World of Sports (abridged). The entire history of athletic competition is revisited in a marathon of madness and mayhem that sees the world’s great sporting events shrunk down to theatrical size.

Open day at DUCHY College Rosewarne, Camborne
DUCHY College Rosewarne, Camborne, will be throwing open its doors to the public and potential students this month for its annual fun open day on Saturday. The college is hoping to expand on last year’s very busy event and promises to offer an entertaining free day out for all the family. Those who attend from 11am until 3pm, will be able to meet staff, students and the resident animals, tour the beautiful campus, have a go at a whole range of activities and explore the specialist facilities.

A wonderful evening of food and fun hosted by celebrity chef Thom Hunt, pictured, from Channel 4’s Hugh’s Three Hungry Boys. Thom will be cooking up a medley of al fresco feasts, including freshly caught smoked fish from the River Fal, plus other delicious local meats seasoned with foraged herbs. All food will be cooked on the large barbecue using Tregothnan’s sustainable British charcoal.
