That's the spirit! Pupils do the business in class
CHILDREN at St Just Primary School embraced the entrepreneurial spirit during last week's trade fair.
Pupils ran stalls in the school hall selling goods they had developed and made themselves.
On sale were jewellery, cakes, games, candles, bird feeders and more, with the proceeds being split between a pot for the school to buy things with and the children from which they can choose to buy something for their own classes.
Head teacher Diane O'Brien said: "It gave everyone a big lift before the half-term week.
"Individual classes set up their own companies and sold their own goods and the year six children held a Dragon's Den-style competition." Lots of people visited during the week including family and friends along with local people and those with businesses in the area. Last year's event raised around £800 and the school is hopeful to have at least equalled that this time around. The project also saw a local producers' market organised by the year five class, a disco and Big Breakfast in aid of ShelterBox arranged by the school council.
