Club show attracts an impressive entry list

THE North Cornwall Pony Club show drew a high quality entry to the Wadebridge Showground clearly impressing showing judges Val Croft of Prospect Farm Livery, Helston and Verity Perry of Rosevidney.

Victoria Weekes came out on top in the highly competitive showing championship with her lovely brown Dartmoor mare Mighty Miss Minnow while the reserve honour went to Jane Carne from Newquay with her exciting coloured prospect Hawke.

Jill Harris had the honour of judging the popular fun showing ring where she not only selected Shanade Holmes' Shetland pony Fudge as her choice for the most cuddliest entry but also for the overall ring championship.

North Cornwall's new member, Hannah Smith also caught Jill's eye with her winning lead rein pony Storm who went onto secure the reserve accolade.

Lewis Edwards also flew the flag for North Cornwall with a series of outstanding results with his super Welsh section B grey mare Chywoon Pollyanna.

Katie Thomas from Redruth made a memorable showing debut with Kathy Perkins's pony Lady who lifted the red rosette for most appealing eyes.

Former North Cornwall member, Penny Lay took charge of the show jumping classes which saw twins Brooke and Amber Whetter in top form on their ponies. Brooke conjured a calculated performance with Forever Fred to clinch the exciting Joker class which saw the parallel standing at 3ft.

Andrew Clemens headed the largest field of the day where he piloted Mo to a win in the midi holding off strong challenges from Dominic Trethewey (Western Talisman) and Brooke Whetter (Forever Fred).

Harry Greaves looks well on track to making big impression on Sweet Melody with the pair posting the only flawless performance in the midi section.

Ros Boisseau took control of a hotly contested gymkhana section which saw sisters Megan and Charlotte Pollard stealing the limelight in their sections with their Welsh Section A only True.
