THIS ENORMOUS black bull already weighs in at more than a ton – and still has another two years of growing.

Michael Collins, from Trewavas Farm, Wendron, is the owner of the mighty Rosemead Bishop, bred by Angus Stovold.

Mr Collins was happy with a third place for the beast on this occasion.

He said: "I'm happy because he's the youngest bull here. In two years' time he will be here and it will be a different story."

Mr Stovold is also the president of the Aberdeen Angus Society and travelled from Surrey to the Royal Cornwall Show for the first time.

He said: "I thought it was about time I came down. It's a fantastic show – a real farming show which we have lost elsewhere.

"Obviously agriculture is doing well in Cornwall – it's important down here. I thought the quality of the stock was very good. I'm going all around the country, but this is the best show I've been to."
