Truro go through after a tense tie
Bude 14 Truro 19
THIS first round tie was a hard fought close affair, which proved to be a worthy contest, before both sides embark on their Western Counties campaign this Saturday..
Truro opened the scoring with right winger Mark Lea jinking over from the 22, fly half Daryl Riches converted to give the city side a 7-0 advantage.
To their credit Bude rallied and began to pose a threat outside, but were thwarted by an aggressive, disciplined Truro defence.

As half time approached, a superb break by impressive prop Jamie Moore created an overlap for left wing Luke Tidball to beat four defenders and score under the posts. Riches converted to give Truro a healthy 14-0 lead at half time.
Bude caught Truro cold from the second half restart, allowing left wing Silas Keeling to score wide out, with full back Olly Denford converting to leave Truro just 14-7 up.
Bude had the bit between their teeth but the Truro defence held strong and countered with impressive runs, spearheaded by all action scrum half Rikki Brandham, who darted over for a clever try.
Leading 19-7, Truro's magnificent defence was breached in the dying moments by Bude No8 Joe Wilson with the try converted by Denford leaving Truro deserved 19-14 winners.
Truro now face another away tie, to South West One West St Austell in the next round.
This Saturday, Truro, who have a new head coach in Josh Lord, start their Western Counties campaign away to Devon rivals Ivybridge.
