In my opinion: We waste too much money on people who govern us
Councillors and MPs up and down this nation are telling us the electorate to 'brace ourselves' to cope with cutbacks to public services and shortages of funding.
But there's no evidence of any prudence when it comes to their own perks and expenses!
Hardly a week goes by without another story coming to light of councillors, advisors, police and crime commissioners and their likes being paid extortionate sums of public money for very little return.

Our magistrates handle 75 per cent of crime cases efficiently and are made up of unpaid volunteers, who give their time, skills and experience to serve their communities. Local councillors should operate on a similar basis.
It would have a dramatic impact – a huge increase in efficiency, a large reduction in administration costs and a rapid exodus of highly paid, unaccountable apparatchiks whose only contribution to their communities appears to be 'a first class seat on the gravy train.'
Trust! In a sickening display of politics at its sleaziest Calamity Clegg protests that he and his Lib Dems, were perfectly reasonable to block fairer constituency boundaries in revenge for the failure of his idiotic Lords reforms.
This is the same man who once stated 'it was important for democracy' to equalise the size of constituencies, to end the scandal whereby it takes many more votes to select a Tory, than a Labour MP.
He peddles the rubbish that he and his Lib Dems support for boundary changes was always conditional on the very success of his Lords reform.
Calamity Clegg has shamelessly reneged on his word and for good measure, he questions the need for an EU Referendum having gone into the election, unequivocally promising one.
