Some 12kg of rubbish was collected by the group of 15 volunteers who are doing a series of beach cleans over three weeks.
They are targeting 15 beaches this weekend around the coastline of Cornwall.
Laura Bailey, one of the leaders, said: "We are recording our findings for the Marine Conservation Society. The beach is usually a lot dirtier than what it was, as a team had been down to the beach before us."
David Roberts of Kennack Diving took a group down to the beach in the early morning to clean it. They also spent time diving to clean the bottom of the sea bed as well as on the shore. "We didn't find any nasty items," he said. "We picked up a lot of old fishing nets that had broken and a number of broken lobster pots, as well as touristy rubbish really – bits of plastic etc."
David enlisted the help of 20 reception pupils from Parc Eglos school as well as eight divers to pick up litter and record their results.
