THE Penventon Park Hotel at Redruth has unveiled plans for a multi-million pound expansion.

The proposals will extend the hotel's existing facilities to provide 30 additional luxury bedrooms, state-of-the-art conference and events centre, a large public lounge, new health and leisure spa to include a large swimming pool, custom built gym, relaxing treatment rooms for massage therapies and a new brasserie-style restaurant.

They also include the development of up to 80 houses on adjoining land. This will provide a range of high quality housing for Redruth.

The residential development will release finance required for investment in the hotel.

The Pascoe family has owned and operated the Penventon Park Hotel for more than 40 years. The proposed development shows a firm commitment in providing a major investment in Redruth.

Aaron Pascoe, general manager, said: “We are committed to ensure that the Penventon has a long term future in Redruth.

“If we are successful, work will commence in 2011 and up until then, it's business as usual.

“The proposed residential development will enable us to invest in upgrading the hotel and providing new facilities as well as creating new jobs and opportunities for the town.”

The plans are currently being prepared for public consultation. Public opinion is sought prior to finalising the proposals for a planning submission next month.

Local people can get their first look at the plans on Tuesday August 12, when they will be on display at the hotel between 2pm-7pm.

The architects and general manager, Aaron Pascoe will be on hand to explain the proposals.
