Laughs, drama, dance

CARN to Cove – Cornwall's performing arts scheme for rural communities – has announced its shows for the new season.

The scheme is a godsend for audiences in Cornwall, filling local sports halls, chapels and our wonderfully varied village halls with poetry, laughter, music, drama, stories and dancing.

They have a strong regional theme this autumn, with brand new theatre shows from three of our best loved Cornish companies – Miracle, Rogue, and Cube as well as music from the newly formed Braga Tanga and Sarah McQuaid, comedy from Les Merton, dance from C-Scape and contemporary cinema from Awen Productions and o-region. All of this from Cornwall alone!

Looking further afield, CtC welcomes Pip Utton with his one-man show Adolf which pushes boundaries of live theatre – not for the faint-hearted – while at the other end of the spectrum Circus Berzercus will show amazing feats of juggling skill and award-winning author Louis de Bernieres presents a show of poetry and music. If you feel like a party, get your dancing shoes out for a rock 'n' roll night with The Atlantics.

They kick off the season with a dance theatre performance by C-Scape. After amazing success on the show's debut in the spring season, CtC is delighted that Below is making a return in the autumn.

Based on a story by Anna Maria Murphy, Below delves into the depths of the Cornish mining industry telling the tales of above and below the mine using C-Scape's unique style of storytelling, dance, physical theatre, music and film that is loaded with raw energy and sheer physicality to produce insightful work on real themes.

For tickets to C-Scape call the phone number given below or book online at www.carntocove.co.uk.
