More woe as Truro slip to fifth straight defeat
Truro City 0, Poole Town 2
Truro City’s losing streak was extended to five games at Treyew Road on Tuesday night, despite a vastly improved performance from Steve Massey’s men.
Following Saturday’s 7-3 defeat at home to St Albans City, Truro’s players provided Massey with an excellent response in the opening 45 minutes in which they were the better side.
However, it was Poole who went in at the break leading thanks to Marvin Brooks’ 34th minute strike.

It was harsh on Truro, who created a host of opportunities with Neil Slateford and Matt Andrew having the best of the home side’s chances.
With Jamie Lowry returning to the side in central midfield, Arran Pugh commanding at the back and the forward pairing of new signing Ben Watson and Andrew always causing problems, Truro proved on Tuesday night that they do have the quality running through the team.
But with their last league win coming at AFC Totton at the beginning of September, lady luck is not shining down on Truro at the moment.
And when Richard Gillespie doubled Poole’s lead after 61 minutes there was no way back for Truro, who travel to top half of the table Banbury on Saturday, where Massey revealed he hopes to have a new signing, possibly a full back, in his squad.
